My story
Hey there, I'm Xiaoxiao, the founder of King's Blue Cake. If you had told me years ago that I'd be making cakes you can't eat but people would still love, I probably would have laughed.
But here we are, and I can't wait to share this journey with you.
It all started in college. Like many students, I worked a bunch of different jobs, trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. One of those jobs was at Häagen-Dazs, where I spent my days balancing trays in high heels. Somewhere between serving ice cream and watching customers light up over a good dessert, I had a realization - I wanted to open my own dessert shop.
So I did. In 2014, I opened King's Blue Cake, Chengdu's first specialty cake shop. My goal was simple: to create desserts that brought happiness in just one bite. Over the years, we grew, opened more stores, and became a must-visit spot for dessert lovers and social media foodies alike. Then, in 2017, we shifted gears, embracing e-commerce while keeping our shops as spaces for people to experience our treats in person.
Beyond my love for baking, I've always been a hands-on creator. When I wasn't making cakes, I was making beaded jewelry - designing, stringing, and crafting every little detail myself. Naturally, I started selling my handmade jewelry right in the shop, alongside my desserts. It was just another way to share the things I loved with my customers.
It all started with a personal quest: I wanted a beautiful, unique box to store my handmade beaded jewelry.Â
But every store I searched just didn't have anything that felt right. After working with fresh cakes for over a decade, inspiration hit me – why not blend my love for cake-making with jewelry storage?Â
With over a decade of baking experience, I used my piping skills in a whole new way, experimenting with different materials until I found the perfect combination - eco-friendly plaster for the base and a special "frosting" that looks incredibly real but lasts forever.
And that's how the realistic cake jewelry box was born! Each one is handcrafted by me, made from safe, non-toxic materials like gypsum and imitation cream clay. They look like the most tempting little cakes, but inside, they're perfect for keeping rings, earrings, or any small treasures safe. What started as a personal project quickly turned into something my customers adored. And just like that, King's Blue Cake expanded beyond desserts into home décor and handmade beaded jewelry.
Now, our brand is about more than just sweets - it's about creativity, craftsmanship, and turning the things we love into something lasting. Whether it's a cake, a beaded bracelet, or a cake-inspired jewelry box, everything I create comes from the same place: a passion for making beautiful things that bring people joy.
