This 5 inches cake might look like it belongs on a dessert table, but surprise! It’s actually a cake jewelry box. Yep, a jewel box cake that won’t melt, crumble, or attract ants — because it’s all handcrafted by me, Xiaoxiao, a cake artist with over 10 years of piping, sculpting, and sweet-daydreaming experience.

Each one is 100% handmade from start to finish. I first build the box and lid out of sturdy plaster, then decorate it using “buttercream” made from whipped cream glue. (It’s fake frosting, but looks good enough to eat!) The design is full of dreamy vintage styles — delicate florals, pastel piping, soft ruffles, and teeny-tiny bows. Honestly, I wanted it to feel like something from a fairytale bakery.

Size-wise, it’s about 5 inches in diameter and 2.75 inches tall — the perfect size for rings, earrings, hair clips, or even secret notes. It’s cute on a vanity, magical in photos, and makes a ridiculously charming gift for someone who loves pretty things (especially if that someone is you).

I didn't want my jewel box cakes to just look beautiful - they needed to feel real too. Plaster gives each box a nice weight and a handcrafted, high-quality feel.

It's also more eco-friendly and refined, which is super important to me.
